Overview

Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy was founded durring the early 14th century in fall of the year 1319, by Wes Shonhê. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy was built using the conventions of Hobgoblin durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy is buildings are arranged arround a network of spacious cobblestone streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. The budget focused millitary grade defenses have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Even the most brief look arround Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy has a good chance of putting a church or shrine into the center of your view. The town is most certainly a god fearing community. It’s also definitely a god loving community. THe streetcornors are occupied by preachers, with the occasional intersection playing host to an actually friendly debate relating to the merits of various gods. Even the less popular as well as the less politically loved gods seem to have a space in Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy, there’s even shrines to gods known to the region only through hearsay.

The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.

Points of Interest

Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy was unknowingly built atop something unstable, and now that substrate is crumbling. It may be swampy ground or a decaying coastline, or it could be an ancient buried city that’s now giving way. In the case of some antique habitation, the denizens that once lived there might be boiling upward as their home is collapsing, or new opportunities may be revealed even as the community’s present structure is ruined.

The roads leading into Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy possess a great number of switchbacks. While designed for defense, they mostly wind up pissing everyone trying to take goods to town right the hell off.

POI

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy lost 203 people, 244 livestock, and 33 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 201, when members of Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy's militia enacted an operation to scout a specific location for information about the enemy. The operation was complicated by the enemy setting up an ambush. The conflict ended with the defense of the temple against a siege, which ended in defeat for Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Yá̂ Daw̋sr Vǖy's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
